Five Years of Self-Sufficiency: Now Facing a Scaling Challenge
For five years, Community Helpers Unite (CHU) has been Winnipeg's Indigenous-led Social Food Enterprise, proudly self-funded through our signature Indigenous-rooted comfort catering and nonprofit food contracts. As an official partner of La Tablée des Chefs, we've built a Public Health approved system that rescues thousands of pounds of food daily, transforming it into 20,000+ dignified meals monthly for vulnerable communities. We are a proven engine of social change, not a charity.
But our success has created a critical challenge: community demand has exploded. The need for our services now far exceeds what catering profits alone can sustain. This is a classic supply chain dilemma, demand has outstripped capacity. We need strategic partners to help us bridge this gap and ensure no one is left behind.
